WHAT ARE GOALS?
  • Goals are the things that we want to achieve,things we aim for as we pursue a certain course of action.

Characteristics of Goals
  • Should be self-chosen
  •  Moderately challenging
  •  Realistic
  • Measurable
  • Specific
  • Finite
  • Positive
Types of goals
  • Short-term goals : Something that you want to accomplish soon
  • Long term goals : Goals that require time and planning.
Academic Goals
  • Related to your course work;example completing assignments and get the Dean's awards every sem.
Personal Goals
  • Involve a growth mindset,motivation and self-discipline to work toward your achievements.
SET GOALS FOR THE NEW SEMESTER



  1. Be open to change 
  2. Set priorities for the first three weeks
  3. Plan for early success
  4. Plan rewards
  5. Learn how to calculate your GPA
WRITING EFFECTIVE GOAL STATEMENTS

Use the five-step approach
  • Write down what you want to accomplish
  • List of obstacles
  • List of resources
  • Review and revised goal statement
  • Polished goal statement
